Finding Peace and Calmness in Christ - Life, Travel, and Jesus

Howdy, everyone! Today I am going to be talking about finding peace and calmness in the Lord. Sometimes finding comfort in God is not always easy, but can be done. Honestly, I have had ups and downs in my life with trying to find peace and calmness in my life, but I have been improving. In life, we will experience things that will disrupt serenity, but in the end, God is in control. Here are a few scripture-based tips on how to have peace and calmness in your life.

Prayer is a vital step to maintaining calmness. Philippians 4:6-7 says "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." God wants us to come to Him with our requests. He also wants us to be thankful when presenting our requests and not have anxious. What if someone has an anxious heart while praying? That is something to pray about while praying for calmness.

Memorize scripture and do what the Bible says. Joshua 1:8-9 commands us "8. This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you should meditate on it day and night according to what is written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. 9. Have I not commanded you. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." Have you thought about why God does not want you to be afraid? God does not want us to be afraid, because He is always with us. God has given us scripture that He has breathed for us to grow closer to Him (2 Timothy 3:16-17). When we draw close to God and make ourselves clean, He will draw near to us (James 4:8). What these three scriptures tell me in this paragraph is to come close to God by reading His word. When we follow God's word, and not our own way we will have peace. This goes well with proverbs 3:5-6 as well. As an end result, if we meditate on God's word and have the desire to come closer to Him, He will draw near to us.

My last tip is to have fellowship. Acts 2:42 says "And they devoted themselves to the apostles teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers." As Christians' we should devote ourselves to fellowship with one another. Acts 2:42 is a perfect example of how we should teach God's word together, have fellowship, and pray for one another. This brings me back to my first point about prayer. We need to be praying for one another and finding peace and calmness together in Christ.
