Spring Break!!

Image
Howdy everyone! Recently, I was on spring break. My break was super enjoyable. First, my family and I went to the beach, which was fun, and then spent time at home, which was relaxing. I’m super thankful I have a spring break so I could have some time away from school to rest. Without further ado, here is my experience during spring break.       The first thing I did to kick off the break was going to Galveston Island. Going to the island was super relaxing and enjoyable! I went surfing for two days, and my family went to several restaurants. Here are a few pictures of me in a wetsuit, the beach, and a meal we had at a restaurant we have never been to.           The last thing before I left Galveston was photography. I am currently compiling some of my best photos and putting a book together (stay tuned for updates).           For the rest of the week, I rested. Recently, I...

How To Come Closer To God - Life, Travel, and Jesus

Howdy! Over the past few years, I have come closer to God. Coming closer to the creator of the universe over the years has been wonderful. One of the things I have found in coming closer to God is that I see things differently. I have hope and a future in Christ. Here is how I have come closer to Christ, and how coming closer to Christ has changed my life.   Drawing near God is vital. James 4:7-8 says: "Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God, and He will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded." When drawing near God, we must resist the devil, and He will come closer to us. This looks like cleansing our hearts and changing our hearts. Coming closer to God does not mean living in our old ways (sin) with the devil, but doing what the Lord has commanded us to do in His word. Romans 12:2 affirms this.     Romans 12:2 says: "Do not conform to the pa...

Dorm Décor Galore! How I Styled My Dorm - Life, Travel, and Jesus

Image
Howdy, everyone! Welcome back to my blog. If you are new here I enjoy creating Christian and lifestyle content. If y'all know me, I love looking on Pinterest for inspiration on how to decorate my space. I have several boards for college and for my room back home. Today, I will be sharing how I styled my dorm. From D.I.Y. to what I bought assembled. My style is a mix of hippie and bohemian. Without further ado, here is what I have decorated for my dorm with some sneak peaks on what is to come.          I am a tree hugger at heart. My first D.I.Y. is a pained pot for the succulents in my dorm. Depending on your style is how you can decorate the pot. Pinterest is my inspiration for these neat pots. Here are my decorative pots:          Photography has been a fun hobby for me. The spring before starting my university, I was gifted a Polaroid Camera for my birthday. I have found a cute way to hang up my...

God's Love For Us

Howdy, everyone! This week is special. Tuesday, February 14th, is Valentine's day. I am excited about all the events my university has planned for this week for the holiday! With Valentine's day being right around the corner, I wanted to talk about the most meaningful love: the love God has for us and the love Christians share.         God loves us so much! He loves us so much that He sent His one and only Son to save us from our sins (John 3:16), steadfast (Psalm 36:7), and is infinite and so broad (Ephesians 3:18). God has loved us since we were before we were created, and He will never stop loving us. There are so many words to describe the love God has for us. When we become Christians, God wants us to love. Romans 5:5 says "and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us." As Christians, we are also called to love God and othe...

Finding Peace and Calmness in Christ - Life, Travel, and Jesus

Howdy, everyone! Today I am going to be talking about finding peace and calmness in the Lord. Sometimes finding comfort in God is not always easy, but can be done. Honestly, I have had ups and downs in my life with trying to find peace and calmness in my life, but I have been improving. In life, we will experience things that will disrupt serenity, but in the end, God is in control. Here are a few scripture-based tips on how to have peace and calmness in your life.           Prayer is a vital step to maintaining calmness. Philippians 4:6-7 says "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." God wants us to come to Him with our requests. He also wants us to be thankful when presenting our requests and not have anxious. What if someone has an anxious heart while praying? That is something to pray about while praying for calmness.  ...

Coming Back To Campus - Homesickness, Being Sick, Classes, and More

Howdy everyone! Welcome back to my blog. It's been a few weeks since I posted.  Life has been busy these past two weeks with getting ready for school, spending time with family, and being sick. I am happy to be back blogging again.          During the two weeks of break, I spent time with family.  We went to the beach, a museum, visited my grandma, and relaxed. It was a great two weeks. First, my sister, dad, and I went to was the local fine arts museum. I loved looking at all the different pieces of art, and reading the story behind it. One part of the museum was dedicated to history, which was my favorite. Going to the beach with my mom was fun! First, we walked around, then we sat on the beach and read a book. I also did some photography while I was on the beach. After the beach, I relaxed and spent time with my family the rest of the time. Spending time with my family was nice, because I know I will not see ...
