Summer Reads! 7 Books to Pick Up Now!

Howdy everyone! Welcome to my blog. Today, I will be sharing my summer reading list. I have read these books and absolutely feel in love with reading them. My reading preferences range from romance to action. Stay tuned until the end for an exciting announcement. Without further ado, here is my list of summer books.  1. Twilight (Books 1-3) by Stephine Meyer          Being a fanatic of the movie series, I had to put my hands on this book.  To sum up what I have read so far, Bella moves to Forks, Washington, to fall in love with Edward Cullen. I was completely submerged in reading the series, and had no trouble finishing the first three books. Overall, I would rate this book a ten out of ten. 2. The Selection (Series) by Kiera Cass          As you can probably tell from the Twilight recommendation (and this being second on the list), I love romance books. I also had ...

Summer Break Thus Far - Small Life Update!

Howdy everyone! I am super excited to be on summer break. This break is much needed from this year. I wanted to share what I have been doing this far into summer. So far, my summer has been great. Before starting this blog, if you have not subscribed please feel free too. Since school is out, I will try to post every week. On the bottom of this blog is where I have my Linktree so everyone can follow me. Without further ado here is my summer so far.          First, I am trying to have my photography book published. The photos I have taken are of nature and that have been taken over the past four years. Publishing a book is exciting for me, especially since I have always wanted to author and publish a book. I am super excited to publish.           I will be taking a summer class, which is Texas Government. I am excited for this because I have had the professor before. The professor I...

Five Things I Learned Before 23

Howdy everyone! Over the past 23 years of my life, I learned a lot about God and about life, and I wanted to share these things with you. Here is my four item list of things I learned over the past 23 years. 1. God Over School           This one has been a challenge for me. I want my grades to honor God; but this does not mean I should make my grades my Idol. Yes, letting my grades honor God is a good thing, but I should not let it consume me to where I do not trust in God. God will guide me throughout my college journey, and I should trust Him (Proverbs 3:5 and Jeremiah 29:11-12).  2. Rest is Important          Rest is so important. For us to function properly, we need rest. What rest can look like: taking a day off of school or work, having time for yourself, going to God for rest, and sleeping the necessary hours to be able to function.  3. Patience          As my mom always...

Reflecting Upon My Junior Year! How God Pulled Me Through.

Howdy everyone! As the 2022-2023 school year ends, I wanted to share what I have reflected on. In the past year, so much has happened, from making straight A's again to learning more about myself and God. Although there were tough times, I am super joyful for the growth that occurred in my life. Here is my junior year reflection.           T he start of junior year was a little rough. Starting the semester, I was anxious about school. I knew I would take the Texas PPR exam in the coming subsequent semester, and I wanted to excel. Throughout the semester, I worked smart on learning the content so I could do more than pass the upcoming exam. As the semester went on, my hard work started to pay off. I was doing well in school, and I became less anxious. There was no reason for me to be worried from the start, because God placed me here with purpose, and He would never let me down. At this moment, I learned I need to be d...

The Reason for Easter! A Reflection on Easter Weekend - Life, Travel and Jesus

Howdy everyone! My family and I have always participated in the Easter holiday. When I was a child, I remember going on Easter egg hunts with my sister and cousins. Even at my university, we have yearly Easter egg hunts. Although the holiday nowadays is associated with egg hunts and a bunny, there is a deeper meaning. The real reason behind Easter is Jesus.           Jesus is the savior of the world. He is God's son, born of the virgin Mary. Before Jesus was born, prophets like Isaiah had predicted His coming (Isaiah 7:14). We started to see the fulfillment of the prophecies when Gabriel, an angel, came to Mary and told her that she conceived a Son. Gabriel told Mary to name Him Jesus (Luke 1:26-38). Jesus "committed no sin, neither was deceit found in His mouth," (1 Peter 2:22). During His journey on earth, Jesus had 12 disciples who He led closer to God. Over the years, Jesus built relationships with His disciples. ...

Spring Break!!

Image
Howdy everyone! Recently, I was on spring break. My break was super enjoyable. First, my family and I went to the beach, which was fun, and then spent time at home, which was relaxing. I’m super thankful I have a spring break so I could have some time away from school to rest. Without further ado, here is my experience during spring break.       The first thing I did to kick off the break was going to Galveston Island. Going to the island was super relaxing and enjoyable! I went surfing for two days, and my family went to several restaurants. Here are a few pictures of me in a wetsuit, the beach, and a meal we had at a restaurant we have never been to.           The last thing before I left Galveston was photography. I am currently compiling some of my best photos and putting a book together (stay tuned for updates).           For the rest of the week, I rested. Recently, I...

How To Come Closer To God - Life, Travel, and Jesus

Howdy! Over the past few years, I have come closer to God. Coming closer to the creator of the universe over the years has been wonderful. One of the things I have found in coming closer to God is that I see things differently. I have hope and a future in Christ. Here is how I have come closer to Christ, and how coming closer to Christ has changed my life.   Drawing near God is vital. James 4:7-8 says: "Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God, and He will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded." When drawing near God, we must resist the devil, and He will come closer to us. This looks like cleansing our hearts and changing our hearts. Coming closer to God does not mean living in our old ways (sin) with the devil, but doing what the Lord has commanded us to do in His word. Romans 12:2 affirms this.     Romans 12:2 says: "Do not conform to the pa...
